Enrolled early from high school to participate in spring ball. Played enough in nine games in the fall to collect three unassisted tackles and a letter.

High School

Despite a season-ending ACL injury in the second game of his senior season he was still a three-star Rival and Scout prospect and a member of the Rivals Texas top 100 ... Rated as the No. 22 middle linebacker in the nation by Scout.com. Collected 25 tackles and two sacks in those first two senior games. Set the the school record for tackles as a junior with 124, eleven for-loss. Had 58 tackles and an interception during sophomore season.

Personal: Born March 14, 1990 ... Parents are Ava and Steve Slaughter. Named to the National Society of High School Scholars and also Randy Rodgers’ First Team Academic All-State team. Mechanical Engineering major. More details at SID bio.
